MEET THE FOUNDERS OF EZ CUSTOM AG SERVICES
Evan and Zach have been farming for a combined 25 years. Over the years they saw how co-ops and independents treated customers and wanted to change that by offering honest service and reliable products at a reasonable price. In 2019 they purchased a high clearance sprayer to offer a better quality alternative to local growers. They continue to expand their services, now offering seed treating and Cover Crop interseeding. They also offer a wide variety of products nationwide.
EZ Custom Ag Is your local farmer owned retailer. Our goal is to help farmers using methods that do minimal damage to the environment, and promote soil biology to ensure we have an asset to pass on to the next generation. At EZ Custom Ag, we are farmers too. We understand the importance of simplicity during the busy seasons, and the need for flexibility when the weather moves against us. We’ve partnered with companies like AgriGold, BRANDT, BW Fusion, and Agri-SC to bring you quality products that fit any need. We’re able to use these tools, along with know how to give you the most successful season possible. With the many forms of liquid nutrients we use, we can make the right application, at the right place and time. We also offer nutrients in different forms, because we understand that what is good going into the soil, may not be best form to use as a foliar feed. We work with our growers to create attainable goals that can bust the bin, not the bank.
Input costs are at an all-time high, and every ounce of fertilizer is precious. This is why we have started to turn our focus towards making available the thousands of pounds of dry fertilizer we have applied over the years. Our focus on soil biology and nutrient efficiency sets us apart from the rest. Our BW Fusion line up offers microbes that can solubilize phosphorous, potassium, sulfur, and zinc. Along with turning organic nutrients in to plant usable inorganic nutrients, we are able to fix and hold Nitrogen from the air. We understand that nitrogen can be a massive expense for many growers, and the ability to fix free available nitrogen from the air can be paramount. When we look into the future and think about what it may hold, government regulation is often at the forefront. The ability to cycle the nutrition we have in our soil by promoting soil biology, building soil structure, and adding organic matter, can give growers a sense of freedom from this regulation, and the high prices of inputs. When we talk about flexibility, we mean it. Our most popular product, Environoc 401, a biological nutrient solubilizer, can be applied as a seed treatment, in furrow, 2×2, broadcast, a nitrogen additive, or even foliar. When it comes to adjuvants and liquid nutrition for the plant, Brandt has been the partner we look to for bringing quality and diversity to the table. Brandt offers micronutrients with multiple choices of chelation. We can help organic growers with our Organiplex lineup, or try to fill that efficiency gap with our EnzUp line of products. Brandt produces soft chemistry nutrients that won’t harm soil biology it promotes it! Chemical prices are on the rise, and so is weed resistance. This is why it is so important to be sure you have your water conditioned correctly, and use high quality spreaders/stickers to ensure you capture as much efficacy as possible from your product. Another company that has been a great partner of ours, and provides us with some amazing technology, is Agri-SC. They offer a soil conditioner that can loosen soil and reduce compaction. Agri-SC also acts as an anti-crusting agent after planting. In the tight clay soils we have here in southern Ohio, crusting can be a huge issue. Using Agri-SC in our pre emergence pass, we are able to reduce some of the negative effects crusting, improve emergence, and balance how evenly our plants come out of the ground. The other revolutionary product that has just been released from Agri-SC, is Endosight. This product allows us to lower our herbicide rates, while still maintaining a good kill. This is going to work wonders for your pocketbook and soil biology. Reducing chemical loads, and not giving up efficacy, is so important because we are not putting as much pressure on our soil biology that we have worked so hard to grow.
Our partnership with AgriGold Seed gives us a diverse spectrum of seed options for corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and sorghum. By breaking our corn hybrids into genetic families, we are able to plant hybrids with characteristics, not just different maturities. Along with these diverse families, comes a multitude of traits ranging from conventional to Smart Stax. With our knowledge of the families, and their specific traits, we are able to ensure you will have the right hybrid on the right acre. On the soybean side, we can offer all trait platforms and a wide range of maturities. With weed pressure becoming higher every year, having an arsenal of herbicide tools can be invaluable.
